Not by might nor by power but by My Spirit, says the Lord

This morning (Jan 4) I could not sleep.

I was fully awake @ 4 am and God gave me this message to encourage me to keep on serving Him in the prayer ministry:

"Not by might, nor by power but by My Spirit

What is God’s assignment to His end-time church?

To build the spiritual temple in the hearts of man, to build & to prepare the Bride of Christ for His Return!

How is He going to do it?

With the help of the Holy Spirit whom He has given to us without 

measure!

What is our part?

To pray, seek God, read & meditate on God’s word seeking for 
directions on a daily basis and being obedient to the Holy Spirit and His leading.

However we also need to do our part using the gifts He has given us

humbly and consciously with the awareness it will not be enough to

finish building the tabernacle of God in the hearts of men.

Zec 4:6

1. The oil is the symbol of the Holy Spirit. We need the oil to do God’s work.

2. The supply of oil is ceaseless (speaking of the unlimited anointing)

 Zec 4:6 (Amplified)

“Then he said to me, this [addition of the bowl to the candlestick, causing it to yield a ceaseless supply of oil from the olive trees] is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit [of Whom the oil is a symbol], says the Lord of hosts.”

Zec 4”6 (NKJV)

So he answered and said to me:

“This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel:
‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’
Says the Lord of hosts.

3. We are not just depending on anybody but on the Lord All Powerful, the Lord of Hosts – all heaven’s armies are at His disposal.

Zec 4:6 (Expanded Bible)

“Then he told me, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘·You will not succeed by your own strength or by your own power [Not by might, nor by power], but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord ·All-Powerful [Almighty; of Heaven’s Armies; of hosts].”

4. We are depending on the Lord All Powerful. Who is more powerful than He?

Zec 4: 6 (Expanded Bible)

“He said, “This is the message from the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Your help will not come from your own strength and power. No, your help will come from my Spirit.’ This is what the Lord All-Powerful says.”

5. When God is with us, we will SURELY SUCEED

Zec 4: 6 (Good News)

“The angel told me to give Zerubbabel this message from the Lord: “You will succeed, not by military might or by your own strength, but by my spirit.”

6. It does not matter if we are few and weak as we are not depending on ourselves but on the Lord.

Zec 4:6 (Living Bible)

“Then he said, “This is God’s message to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord Almighty—you will succeed because of my Spirit, though you are few and weak.”

7. We need not use force or strength, God’s Spirit will help us.

Zec 4:6 (NLT)

“Then he said to me, “This is what the Lord says to Zerubbabel: It is not by force or by strength, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.”

8.  Our ability & strength is also important but it is not enough to do God’s work. We need the Holy Spirit to help us finish it.

Zec 4:6 (The Voice)

“The Eternal, Commander of heavenly armies, has said this to Zerubbabel: “Your strength and prowess will not be enough to finish My temple, but My Spirit will be.” And He says this to those thwarting Zerubbabel’s efforts
